seems like this company doesn't get much love from the posters at SI, what gives?

Carpathian Gold intersects: 250 m at 1.01 g/t Au eq. at Rovina Porphyry (including 100 m at 1.61 g/t Au eq.) & 133 m at 1.10 g/t Au eq. at Colnic Porphyry
Thursday February 1, 11:00 am ET

TORONTO, Feb. 1 /CNW/ - Carpathian Gold Inc. (CPN:TSX) ("the Corporation") is providing an update on the balance of the 2006 drilling activities at the Rovina and Colnic porphyry deposits, located approximately 2.5 km apart, on its 100% owned Rovina Exploration license in central Romania. Results from delineation and extension drilling continue to expand the mineralized zones at Rovina and Colnic.
At the Colnic Au-Cu Porphyry, highlight intersections include drill hole RCD-39, located on the southwest edge of the grid drill pattern, which intersected:

133 m of 0.81 g Au/t and 0.15% Cu (1.10 g/t gold equivalent ("Au eq."))
including 109 m at 0.90 g Au/t and 0.16% Cu (1.20 g/t Au eq.)

At the Rovina Cu-Au Porphyry, highlight intersections include drill holes RRD-15 and RRD-16 that intersected:

124 m at 0.50 g Au/t and 0.35% Cu (1.17 g/t Au eq. or 0.61% copper
equivalent ("Cu eq.")) including 53 m of 0.70 g Au/t and 0.43 % Cu
(1.52 g/t Au eq. or 0.80% Cu eq.) (Drill hole RRD-15);

250 m at 0.53 g Au/t and 0.25% Cu (1.01 g/t Au eq. or 0.53% Cu eq.)
including 100 m at 1.02 g Au/t and 0.31% Cu (1.61 g/t Au eq. or 0.85%
Cu eq.) (Drill hole RRD-16)

Note; Gold (Au) and copper (Cu) equivalents utilize gold at 450 USD/oz
and copper at 1.25 USD/lb. Metallurgical recoveries are not considered.

"We are pleased that the latest set of drill results continue to return significant gold + copper intercepts over large continuous lengths consistent with a porphyry-style, bulk-mineable open pit deposit, said Dino Titaro, President and CEO of Carpathian. "Each drill hole is increasing on the overall tonnage potential over an expanded area. An additional 30,000 metres of core drilling is planned in 2007 to test extensions of the Rovina and Colnic deposits as well as other exploration targets in the vicinity", said Dino Titaro.
A complete listing of all drill hole results for 2006 for each of the Colnic and Rovina porphyry systems as well as drill hole locations can be found on the Corporations web site at www.carpathiangold.com. Drill hole intersection results from the balance of the 2006 drilling program can be found at the end of this press release.

Drilling has resumed on each of the porphyry systems as the total extent of the mineralization at both porphyries has not yet been fully delineated.

Rovina Porphyry

Drilling to date (17 core holes) has outlined a gold + copper mineralized area measuring up to 350 m wide in a northeast-southwest direction and 500 m in a northwest-southeast direction, essentially from surface to a depth of +500 m. The bulk of the drilling to date has been within the central portion of the mineralized area. As previously indicated, the mineralization appears to be closed off to the northwest and open in all other directions. For example, the significant mineralization intersected in RRD-16 lies on the southwest edge of the present drill pattern. Mineralization also appears to be distributed into two bodies (Main Body and South Body) that may join at depth. The entire limits of this deposit have not yet been defined.

Colnic Porphyry

Thirty-eight grid-delineation diamond drill holes have been completed at the Colnic porphyry and have outlined a Au-Cu mineralized zone up to 500 m in a northwest-southeast direction and ranging from 200 to 400 m in a northeast-southwest direction within an immediate 500 x 500 m target area. The most recent drilling was confined to the outer edges of the mineralized area. It appears as if the northern limits of the Colnic Porphyry may have now been defined with the deposit still open at depth to the northeast and southeast and near surface to the southwest.

A total of 11 exploration scout drill holes were completed during 2006 in the Colnic area (RCD 23, 24, 25, 27, 28, 30, 31, 33, 35, 36 and 37 (see website for locations) and were all large step-out holes (200 to 500 m) designed to test for peripheral satellite mineralization adjacent to the main area being drilled at the Colnic Porphyry Deposit (see website for location). All drill holes encountered porphyry-style alteration of predominantly pyrite-bearing phyllic alteration with rare localized and phyllic-overprinted potassic alteration and were weakly mineralized. All of these drill holes lie outside of the immediate Colnic target area of 500 x 500 m and will be followed up at a later date.

All samples collected from any program in the country are prepared and analyzed at the independent Rom Analize SRL Laboratory in Gura Rosiei, Romania, owned and operated by ISO Certified ALS-Chemex Laboratory, using industry standard fire assay techniques for gold on 50-gram sample charges with AAS finish. Copper is analyzed using the industry-standard method of aqua-regia digest on a 0.40-gram sub sample with an AAS finish. Coarse blanks, pulp blanks, pulp duplicates, core twins and known gold standards are inserted on a routine basis. They consist of 15 per cent of submitted samples. For the current drill program a minimum of 3% of sample pulps are analyzed at the ISO Certified OMAC Laboratory in Ireland, for check assays. The drill assays reported in this press release are from split HQ and NQ size diamond core with the remaining half retained for reference. All holes are sampled on a one-metre interval from top to the end of the hole. Mr. Titaro is the qualified person (as defined in National Instrument 43-101) overseeing the design and implementation of the present exploration programs. He is responsible for preparing the technical information contained in this news release.

Ok, pick on a alphabetic mistake. The real issue is that the 2 to 3 million has now more likely gone to 5 to 7 million. Just like FRA, where are the bulk of the market participants going to be when the realization dawns, reveling in a third grade english teacher daze?

I think what huesos meant to say was 2-3 million ounces of AU. ....I would argue that once all the drilling is done Colnic alone will have 3 million ounces of AU and Rovina (right next door only 3 km) should add more ounces along with the copper. An aggressive drill campaign is going on right now on both projects. CPN should have steady news flow for the next few months.

Only 3 - 5 million oz of silver? That is hardly worth the effort to mine, is it?

There is a prevalent argument that the combination of Colnic and Rovina hold somewhere between 3 and 5 Million oz. Ag. With none of the ngo hassles faced by GBU in having to displace a local population, this could go a lot higher than the current price in spite of people's aversion to Romainia.

Drilling continues to expand the size of the Colnic Porphyry Deposit and intersect significant Au + Cu mineralization including,
110 m at 1.31 g Au/t

Wednesday July 19, 8:00 am ET

"These latest set of results have significantly expanded the size and continuity of the mineralized porphyry system essentially from surface over a large area and it still remains open in all directions said Dino Titaro, President and Chief Executive Officer of Carpathian. To date every drill hole has intersected economic grades of mineralization and continues to add tonnage and confirms the favourable conditions for an open-pit bulk tonnage operation. The grades encountered to date at Colnic, as well as the drill hole grades previously reported on the Rovina porphyry (2.5 km to the north), are comparable with the following operating mines/deposits: Cadia Hill (Newcrest Mining Ltd., Australia), Kemess South (Northgate Minerals, Canada), Minas Conga (Newmont Mining, Peru) and Bajo de La Alumbrera (Xstrata/Goldcorp/Northern Orion, Argentina)" said, Dino Titaro.

It's great to see the website back with all the old posts!

Did anyone see the drill results yesterday from Capathian? If not, have a look.

http://biz.yahoo.com/cnw/060418/carpath ... .html?.v=1

171 m at 1.16 g Au/t & 0.17% Cu (1.49 g/t Au eq.) in hole RCD-5 (includes 92 m at 1.50 g Au/t & 0.21 % Cu (1.92 g/t Au eq.))

110 m at 1.05 g Au/t & 0.15% Cu (1.35 g/t Au eq.) in hole RCD-6;

63 m at 1.01 g Au/t with 0.16% Cu (1.32 g/t Au eq.) in hole RCD-7

CPN is now one of my largest holdings. I'm not sure what's holding the stock price down but I will continue to accumulate at these levels.
